Rudolph Themed Food and Crafts
I thought it would be fun this year to do some themed crafts and foods for the Christmas movies that play on ABC Family (you can find schedule HERE). We try to watch as many (that are appropriate) as a family as we can. Tonight Rudolph plays at 630 and I am sure will be on numerous time over the night months.
We had a super busy weekend with three birthday parties in three days along with other errands and church Sunday so my kids were emotional and exhausted this morning so it was perfect timing to do something out of our norm.
We had a whole morning of Rudolph themed treats and crafts!
We took Oreos covered them in chocolate and then used Red Hots for the nose, the miniature marshmallows broken in half for the white part of the eyes and a little dot of chocolate for the dark part of the eyes. We used pretzel sticks for the antlers.
I did put them in the freezer so the chocolate would harden faster.
We had leftover chocolate so we went ahead and did reindeer marshmallows. We put each on a sucker stick and then covered it in chocolate. We used Red Hots for the nose, white icing for the white of the eyes and black sprinkles broken in half for the centers. We used pretzels for the antlers on this one too!
I laid them on wax paper across a cup and put in freeze for about 5 mins so that chocolate could harden.
Then we decided to make a reindeer craft. We did the kids foot prints for the face of the reindeer and each of their hand prints of the antlers. We used red glitter paint for the nose and googley eyes (as my kids call them) for the eyes.
Then I printed off a Rudolph coloring page (found HERE) to keep the kiddos busy while I finished cleaning up the mess and got this blog post typed up 🙂
Check back over the next few weeks for more ideas for Christmas movie themed foods and activities!
