My little boy turned five this year and we didn’t do a party last year so this year we wanted to make sure we did something really special. He wanted to have his party at an indoor inflatable place locally and they were amazing! We have found a wonderful cake lady who is able to make delicious and amazing cakes while accommodating our kids food allergies.
After changing his mind several times he finally decided on Mario Kart and he picked out the cake design below.
We ordered the little pull back toys off of Amazon and he was so excited. He wanted Mario in front to look like he was winning!
Even though the party wasn’t at home I wanted to make it special so I was determined to make a Mario banner. Sorry this was the best angle I could get in the room.
I cut out different size shapes to make the characters and then drew the mustache on a piece of paper to cut out. Believe me if I could do it anyone can! He also wanted the star and mushroom on a few of them. Not sure if you can see them in the big picture so here is one closeup of the banner and of a Mario face.
If anyone wants to know how I made the Mario faces just let me know I think I have it all still written down and don’t mind sharing the info to save someone else the time of trying it to figure out the right sizes/shapes!
I thought it would be fun to give the kids a party favor that fit the Mario theme so I found a chocolate mold on Amazon that was a Wii remote. You could make 4 at a time so it wasn’t as time consuming as one might think. (I posted the link from Amazon below where you can purchase them).
Here is a closer picture of them. The kids and the workers at the place thought they were super cool. I have to admit I was pretty excited about them too!
I also got these little bottles from Hobby Lobby and cut out vinyl letters from my Cricut and put each child’s name on one as their other party favor. I got this idea from a good friend who had done it at her son’s party and my kids LOVED them and I liked that it was something that kids could keep for a long time.
Sorry for the glare on these pics. The lighting in my kitchen is awful and I took this with my phone.
