The other day I stumbled upon a recipe for sidewalk paint on Racks and Mooby blog.
I promised my kids we would try it last week and it was so easy and fun for the kiddos. I had everything we needed in my kitchen, except for the paintbrushes which I keep a package for the kids to use.
- Food coloring
- Cornstarch
- Water
I copied what Kyra at Racks and Mooby did and used a muffin pan, which was really easy to move.
So, let me say letting a 2 and 4 year old help measure and pour the cornstarch was a little messy!
For each color you need a 1/4 cup cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Mix really well and then add the food coloring to make the colors you want. Stir well!
We did two blue as my son LOVES the color blue and I knew it would be a fight if we only had one!
He’s ready to go!
And so is she, even with her hair in face. I promise we try to keep it out but it only stays that way for a few minutes!
As you can see I made them change clothes since I wasn’t sure if the food coloring would stain their clothes and didn’t want to ruin her cute dress or his brand new t-shirt from his great granny!
They both had so much fun and had fun running out the next day and finding that it was still there. My son has asked if we can make it again already!
