My son wanted a Toy Story birthday a few years ago and we had a bunch of people coming so get a really cool cake would have been beyond my budget for the party. We were getting him a John Deer power wheel and so I had to cut back somewhere on the budget and the guest list had 40+ people. Thankfully, his birthday is the very end of July and so we are able to have outdoor parties.
Well after some encouragement from Ann Kelly and seeing some really cute cupcake ideas in Family Fun magazine and through some google searches I decided to make character cupcakes and cookies. I do not still have any of the links I used because they were saved on my old laptop which has kicked the bucket.
Here is the hilarious part, I bought all the ingredients and realized I didn’t own any muffin pans and had to go buy them. How does someone not own a muffin pan?
After some planning, lots of pep talks and about half a days work we had cupcakes!! This was the first time I had ever done anything like this so I was so excited and proud of the finished product. They were not perfect but for a first attempt they weren’t bad!

Cupcakes on display. Ashton picked out the Toy Story holder.
I let him design his own cupcakes and then he picked the Buzz one to be the one he would blow out the candles on.
I found this sweet picture of mine and Ann Kelly’s little boy and just had to include it. They have so much fun together.
