Smoothie Bags

Smoothie Bags-1

If you are wanting to have more smoothies but think they take too long to put together in the mornings here is a trick  to help you out. This is also handy when you have extra fruit or veggies like bananas or spinach that you don’t want to go bad.

In just a few minutes you have make LOTS of smoothie bags and put them in the freezer. Then all you have to do when you want a smoothie is dump the bag in your blender and add the liquid.  I make these when I am going out of town to leave at home for my Husband, but I also going to make some up to have for fast breakfasts for my son on the way to school.

Just get out everything you would normally put in your smoothie and freezer bags. Here I have mixed fruit, blueberries, bananas (you will want to slice these) frozen avocado, and carrot juice, and spinach.

Then fill the bags up.

When sealing push out all the extra air and lay them flat this way everything will stay separated and not one big clump so it will blend easier. When you are ready for a smoothie just pull out a bag and put in your blender. With these I add some apple juice and some kefir and we are good to go.
