My pantry may not be the prettiest but it is functional for me. I have found that I really enjoy having my dried goods in glass jars. I REALLY like the 1/2 gallon jars. I like these jars because the base is not very large so more fits in my pantry. Since we eat A LOT of nuts and beans if I don’t have them in something they make a BIG mess. You will notice the two jars in the middle are jars that other food came in. Anything works. The point to to make the pantry more FUNCTIONAL, more TIDY, and I like to LOOK at it… makes me want to cook more. I also prefer the white lids for the pantry so the lids are all in one piece. I have some larger plastic jars as well for my son’s snacks but we are moving most of them to the glass jars too.
For me I have found it is easier to order my jars online as well. Where I live there is a high sells tax and if I order from Amazon, I don’t have to pay any tax so that is a big plus and I can get JUST WANT I WANT, and they are DELIVERED to my door, no running to lots of stores. With that said some are a lot higher in price than at the brick and mortar store so pay attention and do your research. When I ordered the above pictured half gallon jars they were cheaper than the store, and they are HARD To find in the stores, and I have not had much luck finding the plastic lids this year, which I believe only come in wide month.
I also try to ONLY get wide mouth jar unless I am canning jelly. The wide month jars work better in the pantry and I prefer them for about any of my canning needs. Then you can also make goodies like Layered Salads in Mason Jars or Mason Jar Strawberry Shortcake in the wide month pint sized jars.
Below are a few goodies I really enjoy if you click on the picture it will take you Amazon to check them out.
