Redneck Picnic Basket

So my mother was here over Mother’s Day weekend and needed an idea for a item for a fund raising auction. She did not want to spend much money and wanted something different. While at my son’s soccer game my Mother in law was talking about “redneck picnic basket” they had done at work for a similar type event. So my Mother thought it was something that people would get a kick out of it.

My Mother in Law’s version was in a bushel basket but we thought people might get more use out of this tin bucket. So on the bucket we put the words on with vinyl from my cricut and they can be removed so they the “buyer” would just have the tub for storage, drinks etc. We lined the tub with a plastic picnic table cloth and tied bandannas on the handles and they could be used as the napkins. In side is all sorts of stuff (most of which we would not actually eat but it fit the theme). First the “glasses” are just pint jars glued to candle holders from the dollar store.

Next is the “food” 2 cans of Vienna sausages, pork rinds, beef jerky, RC Cola, Moon Pies ( which are not pictured, we could not find them in my town) Home canned pickles, and Candied Jalapenos ( the home canned goods have auctioned well at this even before).

This is not something you could give to just anyone but would be fun for a type of “gag” party gift. Just another example how gifts can come from your kitchen and not cost an arm and a leg.
