Beef Tenderloin into Filets

Beef Tenderloin into Filets

By August 14, 2012

A few months ago we had several couples over from church to celebration their graduation of Life University (Wednesday night adult bible study courses). We wanted to make the meal special so my husband thought it would be nice to do steaks. We decided to buy a beef tenderloin and cut it in to filets ourselves to save a lot of money.

  • Prep Time : 15 minutes
  • Cook Time : 30 minutes

Instructions

  • After trimming of only a tiny bit of fat he cut the tenderloin in to filets.
  • He then put a little olive oil and some house seasoning. That's it!
  • The steaks were terrific and he ended up with some pretty grill marks too!
  • There was some odds and ends pieces left from the tenderloin so he chopped those up in to little chunks and we froze it for stew meat.

We would definitely buy another tenderloin if we were needing to serve a crowd. The steaks went over great and it was a more economical way to serve good quality steaks to a crowd!
